Job Specification: The Australian Aid For Cambodia Fund (AACF) is a non-profit overseas aid organisation, staffed by volunteers, with Head Office in Sydney. AACF's major program is the provision of higher education for rural youth. In partnership with the Cambodian Government, AACF has built, equipped and supports Maharishi Vedic University (MVU), Cambodia's only rural university. MVU offers programmes based on the teaching of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

As part of our ongoing support to MVU, we run a volunteer program, providing a team of expatriate teachers to MVU's Agriculture and Management faculties. AACF volunteers also work on infrastructure development, administration and other projects.
Essential Skills: Teachers are required in the three Agriculture specialisations at MVU:

  • Agronomy
  • Rural Development
  • Natural Resource Management
You will:
  • Prepare teaching materials
  • Give lectures
  • Conduct assessments
  • Assist with field trips and training workshops
Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in relevant subject area
  • Practical work experience and teaching experience preferred
  • Good health
  • Respect for Khmer culture

Desirable Skills:
Additional Info: Duration of contract 2-10 months (negotiable)

You will join a team of expatriate volunteers living on the university campus. AACF provides work related travel, meals, laundry service, plus a small allowance for personal expenses for volunteers who stay more than three months.
