Campus Interviews/Graduate Recruitment Programs

Each year a number of graduate employers contact the Careers Service with the view to interview students who will complete their degrees at the end of the year. These employers tend to focus on Commerce, Engineering, and Informatics students, however there are many that accept applications from all graduates. Most interviews take place during May, with a closing date for applications usually occurring late March to late April.

Mail Outs

A number of employers will write to graduates directly, via the Careers Service. If you receive a letter from an employer, then they have targeted your degree as valuable for them. Take the time to read it and, if you wish to, respond to whatever opportunity they are offering. Register with the 'My JobAlert' to make sure you don't miss out an opportunity.

Workshops

To prepare students for "Graduate Jobs" we offer workshops in 'Effective Resumes', 'Answering Selection Criteria and Online Forms', 'Effective Interview Techniques', and 'Effective Job Application Preparation'. These will take place in March, April and May. Other Workshops are held throughout the year on a variety of topics related to you preparing yourself for the workplace and further study.

We strongly recommend you attend one of each workshop as no individual appointments can be made regarding job applications.

You must register to attend the workshops, you can register on-line from here.

Information Sessions

Employers want to tell you about their organisations and their recruitment process. It is crucial that you attend these as they will allow you to write more focused applications and present better at interviews. Most of these happen between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

You must register to attend the workshops, you can register on-line from here.

Employment with the Australian Public Service

Here are links to the Australian Government Departments which regularly recruit graduates. Please note that most Australian Government Departments only recruit graduates in the first half of each year, so graduate vacancies may not be available at all times.

The best way to access information about the myriad of opportunities within these departments is to check the following sources:
