Economics is the study of choices. Studying economics
allows people to gain greater understanding of the world
around them, in many areas additional to the business
world. Not all people who study economics become economists;
however economics students gain the ability to approach
problem solving in a constructive and disciplined way,
increasing their appeal to possible employers.
An economics major provides a basis for careers in:
- Accounting
- Business
- Government and politics
- Public policy
- Marketing and tourism
- Finance and insurance
- Teaching
Many companies are already commencing their recruitment
process for 2006 graduates. Listed below are just a
few of the opportunities that exist for those with an
economics major.
